Blistered Shishito Peppers

You’ve asked, and trust me when i say, this recipe will deliver. Blistered to perfection, there’s nothing stopping you from devouring every pepper and then licking the sauce from the plate. There’s something about these peppers— the balance of sweet, tangy, with just the right amount of heat. They are so easy to make, no chopping or dicing required, and the perfect side dish to any Asian meal you’re throwing together. Check out the recipe below!

Serving Size: 2 people

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 12 minutes

Total time: 17 minutes

Ingredients:

  1. 1 16 oz pack of raw shishito peppers

  2. 3 tbsp soy sauce

  3. 1 tsp red chili flakes

  4. 1 tsp sesame oil

  5. 1 tsp chopped garlic clove

  6. 1 tsp honey (spicy honey is best)

  7. 1 tsp lime juice

Instructions:

  1. Add sesame oil to a skillet on high heat until hot

  2. Once hot, reduce heat to medium, and add shishito peppers and toss to coat in oil (be careful as these peppers will pop as they cook)

  3. While peppers are cooking, mix together the soy sauce, chili flakes, garlic, and honey to create the magic sweet garlic soy sauce

  4. Once peppers are tender and blistered on both sides, remove from heat and add magic sauce

  5. Squeeze lime juice on top and serve immediately

Enjoy!
